ORNABRAK is a distinctive single malt gin from Ireland, produced by the small private company Origin Spirits, run by Patrick Shelley, who gave up his career at a global drinks company in favor of his own idea. Handmade from 100% Irish malted barley , the base spirit is also produced using the pot still process in fourfold distillation, and then in a fifth distillation process together with five selected botanicals to become a special, ethereally green and fragrant gin. The main ingredient, alongside juniper, are the needles of the Douglas spruce , native to the West Cork region . The name ORNABRAK comes from the Gaelic word for malted barley. The gin recipe was developed through meticulous sensory work, accompanied by the constant advice of some of the world's most renowned bartenders.
