Its name does not come from the coffee, which is often assumed, but from the distillation system on which this gin was produced. The Coffey still stands for gentle distillation, outstanding for a wide variety of distilling arts. The fine distillate made from barley and corn is refined with the following eleven botanicals. Juniper, coriander, amanatsu, lemon and orange peel, yuzu, angelica root, shīkuwāsā and kabosu, sansho pepper (pink pepper) and apple juice.

Aroma: fresh lemon, green apple, slightly peppery, subtle juniper note.

Taste: mild, lots of citrus, green apple again, fine fresh juniper notes.

Finish: Long lasting, light spice with a slight pepper catch.

This full-bodied and smooth gin is distilled in Nikka Whisky's Coffey stills and is characterized by a silky texture. In addition to traditional gin botanicals, its aromatic complexity is based on Japanese citrus fruits, apple, and Sansho pepper.
