A very delicate and fragrant single malt from Speyside but with exciting new twists thanks to the support of Virgin Oak. The fine maltiness so typical of this distillery is accompanied on the nose by light citrus notes, a hint of beeswax, chamomile and meadow flowers. Gentle, well balanced and absolutely traditional. The influence of the casks is noticeable from the first sip: it is still a floral, delicate, clean and fragrant whiskey but with a richer body than usual. The sweetness is almost honeyed, with pleasant notes of vanilla and banana, but after a few seconds the profile begins to change. The intensity increases and a strong, spicy character complements the sweetness: pepper and mustard give the velvety honey liveliness.
