Caol Ila Single Cask for Chinese New Year

The Fire Horse represents strength, dynamism, and intensity in the Chinese zodiac. With its energetic character, it ushered in a new and eventful year on February 17th – and Berry Bros. & Rudd provides the perfect whisky to accompany it.

The Caol Ila 2010/2026 is a 15-year-old single cask whisky matured in an Oloroso sherry cask. Typical of the Islay distillery, it combines robust smoky notes with elegant fruitiness. The sherry cask underscores this dynamic style and lends the whisky additional depth.

Bottled at 55.1% ABV at cask strength, this whisky unfolds an intense array of aromas: tarry ropes, rubbery peat, and driftwood campfires mingle with fig jam, orange peel, and worn leather. These are complemented by oily notes of milk chocolate, vanilla sponge cake, and poached pear. The finish is long and complex, culminating in a sweet ash note.
