Founded in 1817, Bladnoch Distillery is one of Scotland's oldest and southernmost distilleries. Closed several times and brought back to life, it looks back on a long and eventful history.
Today the small traditional Lowland distillery is privately owned and resumed production in 2017 after 8 years of closure. Master Distiller Dr. is responsible for the new Bladnoch Single Malt and barrel management. Nick Savage, who previously gained expertise in one of the most renowned Scottish distilleries.
Bladnoch Distillery produces a heavy Lowland style that, in addition to the grassy notes typical of the region, also has maritime influences. The lush character is reflected in the single malt qualities newly released for the distillery's 200th anniversary as well as in the house blend PURE SCOT.
The entry level is a composition of Oloroso sherry casks and fresh bourbon casks. This is the first quality that contains barrels from old and new production.
Bottled non-chill-filtered, natural color and in 46.7% vol. Drinking strength.
Tasting Notes: Fresh grassy notes with a delicate floral aroma, green apples, chocolate and a hint of pepper. Pure, sweet and balanced, ideal as an aperitif.
