Hersteller: Wilson & Morgan

Anschrift: Viale IV Novembre, I-31100 Treviso, Italy

Land: Scotland

Each bottling has a different story, and each time the whiskey is aged in a different way. This time the influence of 9 months of aging in very active Virgin Oak casks resulted in something special: no buttery, creamy, smooth notes masking the peat, but on the contrary, a very robust, aromatic foundation that enhances the Islay character ! On the nose, the medicinal notes of iodine are stronger than ever: strong, rustic, tarry and earthy. There is a slightly sour note of balsamic vinegar and a hint of old oak. It smells almost winey, even though it wasn't aged in wine barrels. On the palate it is powerful and stormy: a rush of black pepper, peat, licorice root and pine fires. No obvious sweetness: the tannins work together with the peat to turn the smokiness up to eleven! A strong, loud and untamed Islay malt!
