Produktart: Irish single malt whiskey

Hersteller: Waterford Distillery

Anschrift: Grattan Quay, 7V7H+PJ, Waterford, Ireland

Land: Ireland

One place, one farm, one whiskey: Waterford captures the taste quintessence of Irish terroirs with unique single-farm whiskeys such as Tinnashrule 1.1. Depending on the soil composition, sunlight and duration or location of the fields, barley develops individual aromas, which subsequently lead to clear differences in the aroma of single malt. A scientific, independently verified study has been proving the influence of terroir since spring 2021. With The Cuvée, Mark Reynier's progressive distillery marries 25 of their unique single farm origin whiskeys from various terroirs in southern Ireland into a complex, in-depth taste experience - from Waterford's perspective the ultimate single malt whiskey. The milestone whiskey is correspondingly complex. Matured in French and American oak, it combines aromas from red apples to coffee cake on the nose, caresses the palate in an oily way with grapefruit, dark chocolate or muesli and has an exceptionally long finish. Barrel Type: 46% First Fill Bourbon Barrels, 22% Virgin Oak American Oak Barrels, 15% Premium French Oak Barrels (Red & White Wines), 17% Vin Doux Naturel Barrels (Sherry & Strong Wines) 50% vol. 0.7 liters Not chill-filtered Not colored

With The Cuvée, Mark Reynier's progressive distillery marries 25 of their unique single farm origin whiskies from various terroirs in southern Ireland to create a complex, in-depth taste experience - the ultimate single malt whisky from Waterford's point of view.

Why? Mark Reynier explains:

"Coming from the wine industry, I have always been fascinated by how the best Bordeaux wines are made. Instead of bundling their grapes into a single wine, winemakers take the trouble to produce several individual wines, each expressing its own character determined by the terroir. Only after months of maturation are these individual wines - each with its own individual profile - combined to create a single, deep and complex wine, the Grand Vin. Why not do the same with whisky? This is the vision we have been working on for seven years. The essence of the Waterford project."
