Produktart: Single malt whiskey

Hersteller: Glencadam Distillery

Anschrift: Kirsch Whiskey, Mackenstedter Str. 7, 28816 Stuhr, Germany

Land: Scotland

After 180 years in the whiskey queue, Glencadam made the move from the blending industry to the original bottler stage. But on a rather quiet note. Their “East Highlands” single malt made from unpeated barley malt is still considered an insider tip today. The whiskeys, which are up to 35 years old and are neither colored nor chill-filtered, are produced in two copper pot stills, just like when the small distillery was founded. Due to their construction, they produce a delicate and smooth spirit. Because: The Lyne arms run at an angle of 15 degrees upwards, not downwards.

The Glencadam Distillery always surprises when it comes to maturing its distillate. For the new limited release, the Glencadam 15 yo Reserva de Jerez, the Highlanders matured their single malt, which was matured in bourbon barrels, in Andalusian sherry barrels. Previously these contained sherry of the Oloroso type. Its nutty, dark fruity aroma gives the whiskey depth and complexity - with inviting notes such as roasted nuts, milk chocolate or apple strudel
