Land: Scotland

A whiskey to fall in love with. In the nose you can feel dry peat, behind which various fruit notes play a symphony. The palate shows a liqueur sweetness that is perfectly balanced by the salty, maritime character. The fruit notes are dominated by gooseberry, but one could spend an evening defining the individual fruits. In the background the lightest perfume note comes and goes, which often hides behind the gooseberry note. The highlight of this whiskey is the finish, because it stays and stays. This whiskey is a step in the evolution of the distillery. The liqueur fruit notes are reminiscent of their past; the lightest perfume note is reminiscent of the 80s, and the gooseberry is typical of the distillery's modern profile. The Islay is a good example that distilleries can produce beautiful whiskeys even in their most difficult years. As with most C. Dully bottlings, we recommend giving this whiskey as much air as possible. Especially after opening a new bottle, the perfume notes increased. However, with time and enough air, these diminish extremely, leaving the beautiful gooseberry and peat notes in the foreground.
