W-Destillate zeichnen sich daher durch Röstaromen, Kraft und Körper aus.Außergewöhnlich: Der Shizuoka Pot Still W – Japanese Barley 1st Edition baut zu 100 Prozent auf japanisches Gerstenmalz und wird ausschließlich in der holzbefeuerten Wash Still W gebrannt. Das Resultat ist ein geschmacksintensiver, weicher Goldgewinner mit Noten von Apfel, Zartbitterschokolade und Eichenwürze. Die Shizuoka Pot Still W wird in der direkt mit Holz befeuerten Destille destilliert und zu 100 % aus importierter Gerste hergestellt. 70 % davon sind getorfte Gerste. Honig mit Sahne und geröstetem Brot in der Nase. Dann kommen die milden Torfdüfte mit exotischen Kräutern und geräuchertem Lebkuchen ins Spiel. Im Geschmack: frische Kekse mit Karamell und gerösteten Nüssen. Das Ganze wird mit Torfrauch verfeinert. In the mountainous region of Shizuoka on Japan's main island of Honshu, coniferous trees and the Abe River frame one of the country's up-and-coming whisky distilleries. Shizuoka Distillery has been distilling authentic single malt Japanese whisky since October 2016 – and is one of the few to also use Japanese malt.

Shizuoka produces a wide variety of styles using different pot stills. The copper pot still W from Forsyths is heated by a wood-fired oven reaching temperatures of up to 800°C. W-distillates are therefore characterized by roasted aromas, strength, and body.

Exceptional: The Shizuoka Pot Still W – Japanese Barley 1st Edition is based 100 percent on Japanese barley malt and is distilled exclusively in the wood-fired wash still W. The result is a flavor-intense, smooth gold medal winner with notes of apple, dark chocolate, and oak spice.

The Shizuoka Pot Still W is distilled in the direct wood-fired still and made from 100% imported barley. 70% of this is peated barley.

Honey with cream and toasted bread on the nose. Then, mild peat aromas come into play with exotic herbs and smoked gingerbread.

On the palate: fresh biscuits with caramel and roasted nuts. The whole experience is refined with peat smoke. On the finish, malty sweetness with a pinch of peat smoke that lingers for a long time.
