The Folle Blanch variety is the historic grape variety of Armagnac. For a long time it was the only one grown in Gascony (before the phylloxera crisis) and was then called the "Piquepoult of the country". It is known for producing very fine and delicate Armagnacs.

It could be used as a substitute for gin in a version of a dry martini.
