In Forres, an der Nordwestküste der Speyside, belebt ein kleines Team von passionierten Destillateuren seit 1998 einen verloren gegangenen Stil von Speyside Single Malts wieder: voluminös und mit einem Hauch von Rauch. Dafür setzt Benromach auf Highland Peat, neben Distillers ebenso auf Brewers Yeast, sehr lange Fermentationszeiten sowie ausschließlich First Fill Casks, die in traditionellen Dunnage Warehouses lagern. Und: echte Handarbeit.

Für den Benromach 21 y.o. wird das Fassverhältnis umgedreht. Der elegante Speysider entfaltet köstliche Noten von Sevilla-Orange, Bratapfel, Süße und Würze und klingt mit weichem Rauch langsam aus.
