The Isle of Harris Distillery was founded in 2015 with the aim of creating something special on the remote Outer Hebridean island that reflects the wildness and beauty of the island. The project has also created jobs on the island and is a focal point for visitors and locals.

Anyone who has ever been to Harris knows about the beauty of the island and the deep connection to the homeland of its approximately 2,000 residents. The friendliness with which guests are welcomed, the strong social cohesion, the perseverance to defy the forces of nature and to focus on the simple and beautiful things in life - only good things can happen in this atmosphere.

Sugar Kelp (a brown algae) together with eight other botanicals form the recipe for Harris Gin. It is harvested by a diver off the coast of the island and gives the maritime notes that perfectly reflect the origins of Harris Gin. An island visit for the palate!

Distilled will be Harris Gin in small batches and each bottle is filled, corked, labeled and sealed by hand on site. A premium product that has already found many friends and certainly stands out from the great diversity in the world of gin. However, the Harris Distillery project offers even more - the distillery also distills whiskey diligently, which then matures in the on-site warehouse. You can be excited about the first single malt from the Isle of Harris, called “The Hearach”!

The botanicals: Sugar Kelp (brown algae), coriander, orange peel, cubeb pepper, licorice root, cinnamon cassia, juniper, angelica root, violet root

Aroma : maritime, fresh, juniper.

Taste : intense, juniper, slight sweetness, fresh citrus notes.
