Another second distillate from a well-known distillery is the 12-year-old Ruadh Maor, distilled at Glenturret Distillery with heavily peated malt. An unusual Highland malt, which the maltmen gave a second maturation in a fresh Madeira barrel.

Alba-Import liked this barrel so much that it absolutely had to become an Alba-Exclusive bottling. This is how you present the Ruadh Maor “exclusive for Germany”, which features a wonderful mix of sweet peat smoke, citrus, summer berries and plum compote.

Nose : There are coastal aromas on the nose with some sweet peat smoke.

Palate : Warming on the palate, some buttery notes, lemon peel with salted licorice.

Finish : The finish has a good length, smoke with some summer berries and a hint of plum jam.
