Stauning Dirty Bastard - Rye Whiskey Mezcal Cask & Stout Finish - 53.4% Vol.
Produktart: Rye whiskey
Hersteller: Stauning Whiskey, Denmark
Anschrift: Importer: Kirsch Whiskey, Mackenstedter Str. 7, 28816 Stuhr, Germany
Land: Scotland
When nine friends met to make whiskey in 2005 , their experience with Scotland's national spirit was limited to drinking it. That didn't stop four engineers, a teacher, a chef, a butcher, a helicopter pilot and a doctor from Denmark from founding Stauning and making a dream come true: whiskeys with an unmistakably Danish character.
The spirit of adventure and experimentation are at least as much part of the DNA of the award-winning distillery as the regional ingredients from the west coast of Denmark , the malting on our own malt floor or the distillation in 24 small, directly fired pot stills . The Jutland distillers can particularly express themselves in their innovative Research Series , which is now expanding to include a limited delicacy .
The new Dirty Bastard takes Stauning's exotic Mezcal barrel Bastard to the next level.
The single rye whiskey went through a three-fold maturation process : first stored in American Virgin Oak barrels for three to four years, then aged in mezcal casks from the Mexican manufacturer Oro de Oaxaca for six to twelve months and finally aged for another six to twelve months Hot Chocolate Imperial Stout barrels from the Danish craft brewery “To ØI” .
Anyone who can secure one of the 2,938 bottles will be rewarded with grain, cinnamon, cocoa and tobacco on the nose, dark chocolate and vanilla, roasted nuts and chili as well as dark beer, hops and roasted malt on the palate.
The bottle with the hairless Mexican dog Xolotzcuintle (Xolo) and selected notes was once again designed by the Danish tattoo artist Thit Hansgaard .
